The unicameral parliament of New Cambria, the Assembly of Deputies, currently contains 100 Deputies (ADs), representing 24 constituencies throughout the country. Depending on its size, each constituency must have at least three members. There is no upper limit on the number of members elected, however recent procedure means that constituencies have 3, 4 or 5 ADs. The most recent census ratio (2006) indicates that there is one AD for every 27,700 people. Elections are held using the single transferable vote form of proportional representation.
Following the 2011 New Cambria local government reform and the census, each assembly constituency will correspond to a single municipality, of which there are 22. The smallest municipalities will elect 3 ADs, while the largest, Arvant, will elect 11. These changes will go into effect for the next general election, expected to be held in 2012.
