Class Structure[]

Citizens of Arius are divided into a rigid class structure. At the top is the Emperor and the royal family. Beneath them is the warrior class, which is primarily professional warriors and nobles, along with scholars and priests. Underneath the warrior class is the merchant and artisan class, made up entirely of merchant and skilled laborers. At the very bottom is the peasant farmer class. Peasants make up roughly half the population, but hold only ten percent of the countries wealth.

Family[]

Education[]

There is no formal education system in Arius. Typically, only the richest merchants and nobles can afford to have their children privately taught, aside from the royal family. As such, literacy throughout the country is poor in the middle and lower class. Among the upper class, mathematics, traditional Arisian Language, science, and even magical arts are standard.

Magic[]

Arisian magic is vastly different compared to the northern magic arts. Arisian magic has more emphasis on alchemy and enchantments. Arisian enchanted weapons are renown for being among the most potent melee weapons native to Estreoth. They are highly sought after by collectors and warriors alike. As such, they have been declared illegal to be shipped out of the country by anyone except nobility and the royal family. Regardless, some have made their way out regardless.

Magic is forbidden among the merchant and peasant classes, as is any arcane literature and runic artifacts, by the emperors decree. This law has been in place for roughly a hundred years due to the rising fear of a massive peasant rebellion after the Qu'Xoeha Massacre.
