The Dark Tower, commonly referred to as The Tower, is a large Alemnii-built tower in the southern Barafet Desert. Few have seen the eponymous tower, but those who have traveled to it claim it is a place of great evil. Several stories of a great, wicked guardian that sits at the base of the tower, but like many tales regarding the tower, these cannot be proven. Indeed the tower looks sinister, with a great spiked crown and numerous bladed spike emerging from the tower's spire.

Unbeknownst to the citizens of Estreoth, the tower is actually an arcane extractor, a massive magical device that forcibly pulls arcane energy from the heart of Estreoth. Dozens were made during the existence of the Koniim Empire. The vast majority were destroyed in the Great Cataclysm. The Fallen Tower is another, albeit poorly preserved, example of these devices.
