Falkland Railways (Fylklundryjar) is a train operating company in South Shatter Islands, which began operation at 17 September 2003. The company mainly serves Seagate and places in the Falkland Hills at Grouseland, and most parts of the UK, like Shoeburyness and Southend. In total, Falkland Railways serves 55 stops and 24 operated by Falkland Railways only.
History
In 14 September 2003, it was planned that GrouseRail was going to cease operations due to the less amount of daily passengers. Consultations began and around 87% of people who attended the consultation rejected the idea and instead go for another idea. At 15th September, the plan to cease was scrapped and instead rename the service the Falkland Railways.
Falkland Railways has also constructed the Essex Tunnel, which links Grouseland and Essex, thus extending the network to Shoeburyness and Southend Central. High speed services from other companies have also used the Essex Tunnel.
