Haiyan International Airport(IATA:HYN ,ICAO:RRTH), also Taoyuan International Airport, is the main airport serving the city of Taoyuan. It is located 21 miles SSE of downtown Taoyuan, in the Haiyan Ward. It is the main hub for Air Ryukyu, and a hub for EVA Air, and Pacific Eastern Airlnes.
History[]
1976 June 4, Tiosheng International Airport was completely built it had a capicity of 55 million passengers. It was located in the Yaoullsang Township of Shiung County. It was soon quickly unable to handle the passenger growth. It was hen time for a relief airport. In May 9, 2001, Haiyan International was built with Terminal 1 and two parrell runways. When it was bilit Tiosheng was closed and demolished. In 2005, Terminals 2 and 3 were built. Together Haiyan had a handling capacity of 146 milllion passengers, approximetly 3 times more than Tiosheng.

SkyCity Plaza is a large shopping area with 112 stores, a check-in area and a Taoyuan Metro Station. It was built two years, five months, and 22 days(October 31, 2003) after Terminal 1.
