Transport[]

Private transport[]

Jyväskylä is connected by expressways towards several locations:

  • by MR 9 west to Muurame, Tampere, Turku etc.
  • by MR 9 east to Pieksämäki, Kuopio, Varkaus etc.
  • by MR 4 northeast to Viitasaari, Oulu etc.
  • by MR 4 southwest to Heinola, Lahti, Helsinki etc.
  • by MR 23 northwest to Keuruu, Virrat, Pori etc.

The direction of Laukaa (east) is served by RR 637, which has up to eight lanes, however is not expressway-graded.
