The Leader of the Georgeland House of Commons is a senior government minister in Georgeland who is responsible for organising and administering the passage of legislation through the lower house. His (or her) official responisbility and job description is to 'arrange government business', and to organise speaking orders and debate orders within the government ranks (though the Speaker has the final say. Since almost two-thirds of the House of Commons' day is taken up with 'government business', the Leader of the House position is a senior one. The Leader of the House has historically always held a Cabinet portfolio in addition to this title. In 2005, Zoe Parker became Leader of the House when the position was combined into the office of Deputy Prime Minister - Tom McCully and Michael Boyle also held both positions. When he became Prime Minister in July 2007, Conservative Luke Macaulay abolished this joint position and reverted to past practice. Upon becoming Prime Minister in July 2019, Tom Elderton appointed Frank Bowman to the role, but not to any other ministerial position. Elderton said the position would reflect Bowman's experience (as a former long-serving legislator in Bradmarch) and that Bowman would "very likely" take on a portfolio in 2020 as several serving Senators in the ministry were not re-elected.  The Leader of the House is assisted by a deputy Leader of the House. The Opposition equivilant is the Manager of Opposition Business. Both the government and the opposition have a Manager of Senate Business in the upper chamber as well.
