Malus Spite is the Archmage of Pendra, a position he has held since 343. He lives in a tall tower on the outskirts of the town of Sharan. He also serves as the Grand Master of the Emerald Order.

History[]

According to himself, he was born in the Dark Elf city of Desh-Barok, supposedly located somewhere beneath the Trackless Forests, in 2. He left the city and travelled to the surface in 323. In 342-43 he helped retake Pendra from the Arkalian Empire, and was made Archmage of Pendra in gratitude. He cast the deciding vote for the future Queen of Pendra in 375 and 401, founded the Emerald Order in 399, and singlehandedly defeated an Arkalian invasion in 401 by raising an army of undead - incidently former Arkalian soldiers killed in 343 - who routed the Arkalian forces. Since then, there have been relative peace along the Arkalian-Pendran border.

Physical Appearance[]

Malus is a Dark Elf, member of an ancient race of elves who in ages past betrayed their brethen and fled underground after being defeated in the Kin Wars. Malus has snow white hair and purple eyes which betray his age and intelligence. He usually wear robes of black color and carries a leather satchel with him everywhere. Apart from his ebony skin, he carries himself like any other elf.

Personality[]

On first encountering Malus, he seems to be a thoroughly unpleasant personality. But as one spends some time with him, he shows himself to be a humorous and friendly person, though somewhat melancholic and gloomy at times. He is both feared and loved by the citizens of Sharan.
