The Paradise Island Catholic Church or Paradise Island Catholic Ecclesiarchy (French: Église Catholique de Paradise Island or Ecclésiarchie Catholique de Paradise Island; Latin: Ecclesia Catholica Paradisus Insula or Ecclesiarchia Catholica Paradisus Insula) (PICC or PICE; ECPI), officially named the Paradise Island Apostolic Catholic Church or Paradise Island Apostolic Catholic Ecclesiarchy (French: Église Catholique Apostolique de Paradise Island or Ecclésiarchie Catholique Apostolique de Paradise Island; Latin: Ecclesia Catholica Apostolica Paradisus Insula or Ecclesiarchia Catholica Apostolica Paradisus Insula) (PIACC or PIACE; ECAPI), also commonly and internationally called the Islandese Catholic Church or Islandese Catholic Ecclesiarchy (French: Église Catholique Islandaise or Ecclésiarchie Catholique Islandaise), is an Islandese Catholic Christian church and also the established church of the Empire of Paradise Island headed by the Emperor of Paradise Island (currently Alexander I) as the Supreme Patriarch, while the Patriarch of All Paradise Island and Archbishop of Paradise City serves as the primate of the church. The Paradise Island Catholic Church is the mother church of the worldwide (theoretically galaxy-wide) Islandese Catholic Communion. It is founded by Emperor Alexander in July 15, 1984, who desired an independent Catholic Church in the country, but was able to maintain a peaceful relationship between the Islandese Church and the Holy See. It is internationally an independent Roman Catholic Christian church.
The Church follows the Syncretic Christian tradition and doctrine of Islandese Catholicism as their main doctrine and tradition with three dominant principles describing the Islandese church as Catholic, Independent and Equal with Islandese traditions.
- Catholic, it views itself as a part of the universal church of Jesus Christ in unbroken continuity with the early apostolic church.
- Independent, it is separated from the supremacy of the Pope, but maintain and protect the Catholic heritage by combining with Islandese traditions.
- Equal, it views everyone and everything as equal to God, no matter which species, sex or ethnic they are from, they are all equally welcome in the church.
Although it is Catholic in nature however, but it is notably more liberal than the Roman Catholic Church, due to its acceptance and absolute tolerance of married clergy, homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and the ordination of women. With 1,649,942,980 self-declared members, the Paradise Island Catholic Church makes the first-largest Christian church in Paradise Island alongside the Catholic Church and the Paradise Island Episcopal Church. It has been opposing racism and been known for supporting civic nationalism with their popular slogan turned official creed: "Everyone is equal to God, Everything is equal to God, The Emperor is equal to God" (French: Tout le monde est égal à Dieu, Toute chose est égale à Dieu, L'Empereur est égal à Dieu).
Despite being independent and not in full communion with the Holy See, it is also known as the Paradise Island Roman Catholic Church (French: Église Catholique Romaine de Paradise Island; Latin: Ecclesia Catholica Romana Paradisus Insula) or Islandese Roman Catholic Church (French: Église Catholique Romaine Islandaise; Latin: Ecclesia Catholica Romana Insulanus), for currently using the Roman Rite alongside the Islandese Rite.
The Church is formally titled in both French and Latin as Église Catholique Apostolique de Paradise Island and Ecclesia Catholica Apostolica Paradisus Insula (French and Latin for Paradise Island Apostolic Catholic Church). In International English it is also known as the Islandese Catholic Church, the Paradise Island National Catholic Church and the Islandese National Catholic Church.
The ECAPI supports the clerical marriage, ordination of women and civic nationalism, the sacrament of Communion under both kinds, individual Biblical interpretation, veneration of saints, Mary the mother of Jesus and the Holy Trinity, but opposed the Roman Catholic dogma of papal infallibility, denied eternal damnation and rejected but permitted the sacrament of Penance, the beliefs of the Emperor as the Son of God, the Vicar of Christ, the divine incarnation of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, the universal equality of every sentient and Sithism as a Satanic and heretical veneration.
The Church is formally under the leadership of the Emperor of Paradise Island (currently Alexander I) since its foundation in 1984 as a Supreme Patriarch, but it was decided that the day to day leadership of the church was handled by the Holy Synod, presided over by the Patriarch of All Paradise Island and Archbishop of Paradise City.
