Origin[]
of the name[]
The -swirr in the name probably comes from the Old Mannish *svirra, cognate to Old East Mannish *schwir, Vesi-tjissken swyrri,Franzkú zviry, Lécunian Franskúnic zvyrra, from the Proto-Mannish root *suír- "to cut, to split" (Scholari et Marz, 1703). The Reli part is probably taken from Proto-Mer *rel- "many" (Scholari et Marz, 1703). The complete name Reliswirr translates roughly in to, splitter (cutter) of many (i.e something similar to slayer of many), a fitting name seeing as the sword has been wielded by every great leader of mankind.
of the sword in question[]
Mannish legend holds that the blade, fully formed was found in the ancient homelands of men, and the then greatest craftsman Smi worked until he died of exhaustion adding a worthy hilt to the blade forming the sword Reliswirr.
