During the third age of Caroth, those years betwixt 2924 - 5421, the world saw great changes.

  • The great comet which splintered and fell down during a rain of fire on Caroth wreaking havoc and destruction.
    • The total collapse of the Empire of Nárdunn and the exodus of mankind towards the west, across the Great Sea, attempting to returning to their ancestral homelands.
      • The rise of nomadic warrior tribes roaming the lands of Caroth, these few having refused the call of the Sea.
    • The construction of the Red Temple of Rabil-zanal by the now lonely Carothinians begging for forgiveness for their sins from Rab and praying for a brighter future.
    • The dwarves retreating from their positions as hired mercenaries into their mountains, closing their doors and cities to the world.
    • The immigration of the Qu'ak coming from the lands south-east of the great Callavatúr which were flooded after the bay of Kalu'annaka was struck by a comet fragment causing massive tidal waves to severely damage their coastal settlements.
    • The rise of the Tavle civilization in the south, near the Núli river which crosses the endless plain.

The Comet[]

Of this cataclysmic event the Codex Arcanocarota Historicalas Tavlerii says:

In the year PS 2827 the Avatar of Rab spoke to the grand Car-Rai in a dream , about the impending doom of the carothinians, lest they they change their greedy, immoral ways. Yet the grand Car-Rai and the Canaset refused to heed the warnings... And so it passed that ninety years later, a great shining light was sighted in the sky by the Scholars atop their observatory in Ada. Three months later the impact was a fact. During the coming seven years the Empire of Nárdunn would suffer from low harvests, massive structural and ecological damage, famines, diseases and a general gloom which drove the empire down to its knees. Without their greatest client the Carothinian merchant society fell quickly and laid low until it was reborn as a theocratic kingdom, with a great spiritual leader as King of Merchants and all Carothinians. These seven years were known as the years of burning, with many former places still burning and spewing smoke seven years after the impact. This ended with the great exodus, the wandering home, the last journey of men towards the west, towards their ancestral homelands..
