The United Islands Navy[1] is the naval force of the United Islands of Georgeland. The navy has existed since 1896, and was referred to as the Royal Georgeland Navy until 1929 when the monarchy in Georgeland was abolished. Along with the United Islands Army and the United Islands Air Force, it forms part of the United Islands Defence Force.

The UIN is primarily used for defence and coast guard operations, but has been deployed internationally during several conflicts. Regarded as a blue-water defence force, the UIN expanded considerably after World War II and reached a high point of capacity in the 1980s. By 2004, the last of the UIN's aircraft carriers was decommissioned and a readiness report in that year indicated the UIN's primary goal should shift towards coast guard operations. It is classified as a 4 , or a regional power projection force, on the Todd-Lindberg naval classification scale, having been a 3 on the same scale, indicating stronger power projection outside its region, from 1996 to 2006.

The UIN maintains a surface fleet of 44 commissioned ships; fourteen frigates, seven destroyers, seven minehunters, four reconnaisance vessels, four attack submarines and eight patrol vessels.

Vessels commissioned into the UIN are assigned the prefix UIS (United Islands Ship); between 1896 and 1929 they were assigned the prefix HMGS (His/Her Majesty's Georgeland Ship) and between 1929 and 1958 the prefix GNS (Georgeland Navy Ship).

  1. While the United Islands Navy is the force's official name, and appears on all legal and official documents, it is rarely used outside the Navy itself, with the name Georgeland Navy being a more common nomenclature, even among its members. The name Georgeland Navy was the organisation's formal name between 1929 and 1958.
